Geraldine O’ Brien has a BA in both Design and Fine Art Sculpture along with an MA in ‘Social Practice and the Creative Environment’, 2011, (LSAD). She is a lecturer for many years at GMIT, Letterfrack Campus in design practice and drawing. In recent years she has advanced her career to become a fine art practitioner particularly in the field of social engaged art practice.  She has exhibited at Eva and The Claremorris Open and many group exhibitions. Her earlier work explored the communication of human emotions using video and photographic installations. She uses social media, video and photography to take on social concerns both within her lecturing practice and collaborative projects within communities around in Galway.
