Agata Derda is a Print Artist currently living and working in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She completed her Master of Fine Arts (Printmaking) Degree from University of Alberta in 2013 and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (2010). Derda participated in internationally and nationally recognized group shows in Europe (France, Uk, Ireland, Poland, Slovakia: LE TEMPS DES SIRÈNES – The 2nd International Biennial of Women in Contemporary Art – Lorient, France 2010, Diverse Printmaking – Ordinary Degree Graduate Show GMIT student’s exhibition, RK Burt Gallery, London, Great Britain 2009, Impressions ‘10, Contemporary Irish Printmaking, Galway Arts Center, Galway, Ireland 2010, International Print Triennial – Krakow 2012, Where is Printmaking?, Contemporary Art Gallery, Opole, Poland 2013) as well as China and Canada (The 4th Guanlan International Print Biennial, Guanlan Original Printmaking Base, Shenzhen, China 2013, The Biennial International Miniature Print Exhibition VI – Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada 2010).

She is greatly interested in ‘hybrid printmaking’ which she understands as marriage of different print techniques. Her art speaks mostly about the dark side of human condition.
